Card Pro Tool Installation Instructions:

Note:  You must uninstall any previous versions of the CardPro tool before updating to this newer version.

Download the .zip archive into a temporary folder on your desktop. Unzip the file. Activate the archive. Once all the files have expanded, double-click on Setup, and follow the instructions. The PCMCIA Card Programmer is compatible with Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP.

Using the Tool for Programming Software:

The programmer tool will format the PCMCIA card (Compact Flash) and copy the software to the card.

Download the software executable to a folder on your PC.  (Do not save the software executable to the root of a drive, as CardPro will not be able to program it from there.)

Open the PCMCIA Card Programmer.

With Step 1, Select the Software Archive to Program from the applicable Drive and Directory, then select the PCMCIA Card drive letter.

In Step 2, click on ‘Program PCMCIA card’.

(You can set the allowable size of flash card that CardPro will format, by clicking on Options and filling in the Minimum and Maximum size restrictions.)

The Tool will first format the card then programming will proceed.  When complete, click OK when “Your PCMCIA Card has been successfully programmed!” message appears.  Click EXIT.

When properly programmed, the software on the PCMCIA card will have the following directory and file structure:
bootrom/
dflt_db/
p/
u/
dramos
dramos.sym
dramoscc.sym
A readme.txt file may also be present.

You are now ready to put the programmed card into slot A of the System Controller and proceed with the software installation procedure. Please make sure you have your keycode sheet available prior to installing the software.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP Manual Process:

DO NOT FORMAT PCMCIA CARD.  If your card is not blank, erase files but do not format the card.  Formatting with Win2000 or WinXP will cause the PCMCIA Card to be incompatible with your switch.  Next create a new folder on your PC desktop.  Download the software required (executable file) to this folder.  Double click on the file to expand the executable into separate folders and files.  Copy these files to your PCMCIA drive, using either DOS shell or Windows Explorer.

If you have formatted the card using these operating systems, the incompatible card can be corrected and used by programming with the Card Programmer Tool.

Manual Process for use with Windows 95/98 or NT operating systems only:

Note that the manual process of programming PCMCIA cards from a DOS shell or using Windows Explorer also functions correctly, except on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

First format the PCMCIA card (from DOS shell, type format g: (where g: can be any drive letter); or from Windows Explorer: right click on drive and select format.
Next create a new folder on your P.C. desktop.  Download the software required (executable file) to this folder.  Double click on the file to expand the executable into separate folders and files.  Copy these files to your PCMCIA drive, using either DOS shell or Windows Explorer.
